Brief Summary of Unit

Students will learn important events that lead to the allies success in World War II in both the European and Asian front. They will create a timeline of major events that shows their understanding of the events. They will learn how cou7ntries like the United States and Germany were directly effected by the war both during and after. In doing so they will see how the results of WWII effected future events. Students will understand that WWII had major consequences for many people throughout the world. That the Jewish people were not the only people largely effected by the war. Students will be given an identity of a person in WWII and write a blog on how events might have effected them. Students will be able to look back at past events and analyze how they could happen again and ways to prevent it using a digital presentation. By the end of this unit students will be able to relate to events in WWII. They will know and understand the connection between WWII and the Iraq war and other events that are currently happening.
